Overview
Picnic or a walk to the town of Yogyakarta incomplete if we did not set foot in Malioboro. You know, Malioboro is the most famous street in Yogyakarta. This is the city’s main street. Malioboro street area is almost always crowded with tourists from various countries.

Get There
Malioboro is not far from Tugu Railway Station. In the north of the station there is a monument, is a symbol of this gudeg city. The travelers who use rail transport to Yogyakarta, very easy and fast to go to Malioboro shopping center. You can get there on foot or ride a becak (pedicab) or the four-wheeled horse-drawn carts called “andong” or “delman”.
Actually, The best way to take in the sights of Malioboro is on foot. You won't need a car to get around malioboro.  

To Buy
Today, Malioboro is the place to come to shop. It packed with shops selling some souvenirs at affordable prices, so you’re bound to find something of interest in this street.
·         If you’re looking some batik to take home, as a souvenir, you can find Bringhardjo Market is the right place for you. From house dresses to formal batik wear, this street has them all. Batik can also be made into bags, table cloths, bed sheets, pillow covers, curtains, and many more. For more exclusive items, you can visit stores such as Mirota in Malioboro
·         Beside batik,  jewelry, keychains, posters, wayang, decoration items like transportation miniature can be found in Malioboro.
·         Or try local cookies? Bakpia. Cookies with many filling. such as chocolate cheese or soybean, very tasty, and also sweet.

If you plan to spend a night in Malioboro, there are so many hotels and inns in this street. And about the budget, we can suit certainly here because, from a one star hotel till five star hotel this street has them all. You can choose what hotel you want to rent.





















To Eat
At night, the street opening up that tents serving all kinds of local cuisine. Which the locals said to as "lesehan".  You need to sit down, Enjoy your meal, enjoy Malioboro's nightlife and street musicians maybe. It's an experience you shall not forget.
Some of the local specialties cuisines, include:
1.     Gudeg, a Yogya speciality, and
2.    (Langgi Rice), this is warm rice served with various side dishes, or maybe we called Nasi Kucing





Historical sites
After shopping and culinary tired in Malioboro, maybe you can go to the south of Malioboro  because there are lots of cool historical sites. Starting from the Presidency Indonesia Gedung Agung, March Eleven Monument, the Palace Ngayogyakarta or we called it Keraton, and Taman Sari.
